Sammy Marks Museum Tour

This splendid residence on the farm Swartkoppies outside the city of Pretoria was built by Sammy Marks (1843 - 1920). It contains magnificent furniture, ordered by Marks from oversea, as well as exquisite cutlery and crockery. Marks was one of the first industrialists in the South African Republic and a mining and farming pioneer who owned a distillery and other factories not far from his farm.
